Pottery on the Wheel

INTRODUCTION

This basic five-week introductory course will cover a range of wheel throwing pottery skills where you'll learn how to build a variety of creations.

During the first week you'll learn to work clay, centre your project and make a basic small cylinder, then in the second and third weeks you will learn how to make cups, saucers and bowls. In the fourth week you can get really creative while playing and experimenting with your own creations. The fifth and final week will be spent decorating and glazing your finished pieces.

Those with previous pottery experience are encouraged to use the class time to work on their own projects, or join in with the rest of the class.

Your finished pieces are returned to the Unipol Recreation Centre following the final firing and will be available for collection from the Centre (usually within 2-3 weeks after the final class). You will be contacted when the pottery is ready to collect so leave us an email address you check when you enroll.
