The Central Asian Buddhist missionary An Shigao: a study of his life and work with a focus on meditation

A study of the biography and translation work of An Shigao with special reference to the practice of meditation. The thesis will include a translation of the text of Seng You's Chu-san-zang Ji-ji (T.2145) from classical Chinese into English.
