PBRF 2026 important update for staff
The government has announced that the next PBRF Quality evaluation exercise, which was to be held in 2026, will not go ahead. Further information can be found at the Tertiary Education Commission's website.
However, the PBRF and Publications Office's work collating and verifying Otago's research output data remains unchanged as this data feeds into several other areas of University reporting, including feeding through onto staff webpages. All staff should continue to check their research outputs/publications listings in MyResearch as usual and notify the office of any outputs not listed on their profile by forwarding details and evidence to publications@otago.ac.nz
PBRF and Publications Outputs role
The PBRF and Publications/Outputs Office collects and reports on research output information of Otago staff and coordinates the Tertiary Education Commission's six-yearly Performance-Based Research Fund (PBRF) Quality Evaluation.
