Welcome to the RID Web Site

What is the RID Trial?

The RID trial tests whether a set of web-based self-help programmes work for reducing depression in New Zealand. The programmes are designed to help people manage their depression by providing relevant information and/or working through a number of exercises on the internet.

The data collection phase has now been completed for this trial and we are now analysing data and reporting on the findings. Our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to this phase and especially to all of our participants who have made a commitment to taking part in the trial for its duration.

We encourage you to use the resources on this website under "Sources of Help and Information" and keep in touch with the progress of the trial through the News Archives.

We also appreciate receiving your feedback on this site and the online programs and exercises. Please feel free to contact us by email.

This trial should not be considered to be a substitute for professional advice for treatment for depression or anxiety. The RID team is unable to provide advice to people about their personal circumstances.
