Postgraduate study

Otago offers an academically challenging and supportive environment for postgraduate students. Research excellence is a feature of the university as a whole, and the enormous volume of ground-breaking research undertaken at Otago can only happen when supported by an equally large number of graduate students, working with our senior researchers in pursuit of new knowledge.

Application for postgraduate study

Applications for all courses are now completed on-line via e-Vision. If you have further questions about postgraduate study, or there are particular details of your proposed course of study you wish to clarify please contact the department. Postgraduate student support

There are a number of support services available across the university. Find out what's available and where to find help, BEFORE you need it. Postgraduate research students can call on the Graduate Research school for extra support and workshops on thesis preparation etc.

Māori support services

We have Maori Support People(kaiāwhina) within all of the departments in Sciences and OSMS.

Job opportunities

From time to time there are job opportunities for students within the Division. Four that come up each year are Schools Ambassadors, Science Fair Judges, OUASSA (Science Academy) and Hands-On Science helpers.
