Master of Applied Science (MAppSc)

The Master of Applied Science (MAppSc) is a 180-point, coursework postgraduate degree. A candidate would normally be a graduate, but the degree is also open to those with other relevant qualifications. The MAppSc is designed for students who wish to pursue an interdisciplinary programme of study underpinned by science that delivers versatile skills relevant to multiple end-users.

The Master of Science Communication (MSciComm) is a two-year degree and is available with three endorsements: Creative Non-Fiction Writing in Science, Science and Natural History Filmmaking, and Science in Society. Students in each endorsement produce a thesis comprising a creative component (e.g. book, film, exhibition, etc.) and original research.

The Master of Sport Development and Management (MSpDM) is designed for individuals who are employed in Sport Development and Management and want to upskill for professional development reasons. It is also intended as a pathway for those students graduating with a BSc or BA majoring in Sport Management and Development (or comparable qualification) into employment in the field.

Master of Surveying (MSurv)

The Master of Surveying (MSurv) is a one- or two-year that is designed for those with an undergraduate degree in surveying. Applicants with a strong academic record, possibly evidenced by an Honours degree, may be permitted to complete the degree in one year by thesis only. Other applicants will generally be required to undertake a year of coursework followed by a thesis year, although the course work requirements may be reduced in certain cases.

The Master of Wildlife Management (MWLM) is, typically, a fifteen month degree. The MWLM is designed to be a more clearly recognisable qualification for students enrolling from overseas, or for students seeking to work overseas.
