BSCW/BSW
This is a full four year degree programme offering a professional qualification in social work. Each of the on and off campus options of the BSCW has its own selection procedures and closing dates for application. Please ensure you download the forms relevant to your preferred option.
The On-Campus option:

All applicants for the programmes must also register with the University through the standard University enrolment procedures
All applicants for the programmes must also register with the University through the standard University enrolment procedures. However, do not send in your completed "Course Approval" form which you will receive as part of the standard enrolment papers until you are notified of the results of the selection process. The deadline for enrolling with the University is mid to early December (depending on your academic circumstances).

Master of Arts (MA)

To enrol you need to
1) Submit your application to the Postgraduate Administrator, Department of Sociology, Gender and Social Work, University of Otago, PO Box 56, Dunedin 9054.
2) Enrol with the University of Otago.

The closing date for returning the registration form to the University is 10 Dec of the year prior to that in which the applicant is planning on doing their studies.
Note: International students will need to apply through the International Admissions Office. For more details please go to their web site www.otago.ac.nz/international
Master of Social Work (MSW)
• Application deadline with the department: 15 January
This distance-taught post-professional qualification is available to New Zealand residents only. Applications for admission close on 15th January of the year applicants intend to begin study.

Must go through the standard University enrolment procedures
In addition to the application process above (deadline 15th January) all applicants for the MSW need to also go through the standard University enrolment procedure, and the deadline for this is in early December. Check the University of Otago's enrolment details for complete information on their enrolment processes.
