Studying Sociology, Gender and Social Work

While each programme takes different disciplinary approaches, their interests converge around a number of topics. Students can make use of this convergence, and consolidate their learning, by taking papers from two or three of the department's programmes.

You’ll be introduced to different perspectives on things you’ve always taken for granted, while you explore aspects of society, community, subcultures, backed up by scholarly reading and discussion.

Students are encouraged to think independently and to relate their academic learning to the world they encounter daily.
