Workshops for the BSW and MSCW(Applied)

The department holds on-campus compulsory workshops for each social work paper. These are held over a period of 1 to 1.5 days for each paper and are normally combined into blocks of time to consolidate the sessions you are required to attend.  For example, if you were undertaking two papers then the workshops would be held as close together as possible. These workshops are generally held at the beginning of each semester, although there has been some slight alteration in this depending on the stage of the learning. Information on each of the workshops is normally sent out in plenty of time to allow students to plan in advance. For those workshops located away from the marae, students are required to book their own accommodation, however, information is available about local accommodation options.  If you are attending workshops at the marae you need to make allowance for koha for sleeping on the marae (normally $50) plus koha for transport.  If you require transport please meet in the carpark at the rear of the Department at 280 Leith Walk by 9.30 am on the Monday to be taken out to the marae.
