The Proctor and the Campus Watch teams are part of Otago University's strategy in managing and enhancing the campus environment, in conjunction with fostering good relations with neighbouring residents and business.
The campus and the surrounding suburbs are all part of a vibrant community, which requires a sense of order.
One of the Proctor's main roles is to work closely with the police and all local authorities in fostering the unique town/gown relationship that exists in Dunedin, as it relates to student behaviour.
The Proctor's Office is the first and lead responder to any emergency situation that may arise on campus.
Discipline Statute (including the Code of Student Conduct)
The Proctor is also responsible for managing the University’s Discipline Statute, (including the Code of Student Conduct). If you breach the Statute including the Code of conduct, you may be called to the Proctor’s Office.
