To be eligible for admission from International Baccalaureate you must achieve the IB Diploma (24 points minimum).

You must also satisfy literacy and numeracy requirements by completing English as the language at Higher or Standard level in Language A: literature, or Language A: language and literature, or at Higher level in Language B, together with any mathematics subject.

Note: you cannot use results from tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Fee

If you have completed the International Baccalaureate outside New Zealand, a non-refundable administration fee of $93.00 will normally be charged for an application under this form of admission.

Evidence you are required to provide

If you have authorised the electronic release of your results to the University of Otago, we will be able to access your results electronically when they become available in either January (for November examination session) or July (for a May examination session).

Preferential Entry requirement from IB

The entry score requirement for Preferential Entry for the applicable undergraduate programmes from IB is a minimum of 26 points. Scores which do not meet this requirement will be considered for Competitive Entry.

How to calculate an IB entry score

Each IB point equates to one entry point so if a student achieves 26 points in the IB Diploma the entry score will also be 26 points.
