Course Information
Richard Ivey School of Business is a suitable destination to students at the end of the commerce degree. All exchange students are registered in 4th year courses at Ivey.
Ivey course information
- Commerce students should apply to Richard Ivey and will not be able to take courses outside the School of Business.
- Law students should apply to Western Law and will not be able to take courses outside the Faculty of Law.
- Students applying to the University of Western Ontario will not be allowed to take courses at Richard Ivey School of Business or at the Faculty of Law.

- Academic Year: September - May
- Fall Term: September - December
- Winter Term: January - May
Course Load and Minimum Unit Requirements
A total of 5 half course equivalents is a full-load in each semester at Ivey.
- Courses with 10 classes = quarter course (1.5 hours per class)
- Courses with 20 classes = half course (1.5 hours per class)
Ivey half courses are generally equal to 6 ECTS credits.0.25 Ivey (quarter) courses are generally taught within one Term, Ivey half (.5) courses are generally equal to 6 ECTS credits.
