Teaching and Research
The University of Otago undertakes teaching and research across a wide range of sustainability and environment issues.
The University acknowledges that in order to discover both pragmatic and aspirational solutions to the environmental, economic and social challenges facing New Zealand and the world, we must explore, advance and apply our understanding of sustainability.
To enable this understanding, the University is committed to providing an exceptional learning environment that promotes sustainability in study as well as campus management.
A committee of academic staff has been formed to discuss the further advancement of sustainability as an essential part of all teaching and learning, and one of the outcomes of the committee has been compiling a list of all current papers and courses that involve sustainability related issues.
Whether you are a first-year undergraduate student, a PhD candidate, a mature student engaging in part time study, or a teacher or academic researcher interested in advancing progress in sustainable practice in the fields of energy, land and water management, or scientific innovation, the University of Otago offers papers and courses that make sustainability accessible, relevant and applicable to nearly every field of study.
More information on the degree courses and individual papers offered at Otago is provided in the links below.
