Visa Requirements

This page is intended as a guide only and all Visa Requirements must be checked with a Travel agent, the New Zealand Immigration Service website http://www.immigration.govt.nz/, or a New Zealand Embassy.

All visitors to New Zealand must carry a passport that is valid for at least three months beyond the date they intend to leave the country.

Waivers

Currently travellers from more than 50 countries do not require a Visitor's Visa if they are staying in New Zealand for less than three months. Travellers from these countries do however require:

Eligibility for a visa waiver can be checked on the Visiting New Zealand section of the New Zealand Immigration Service website. A list of all eligible countries and other useful visa information can be found there. Travel agents, Airlines or a nearby New Zealand Embassy can also advise about visa requirements.

British citizens and other British passport holders who have evidence of the right to live permanently in the UK may be allowed to stay in New Zealand for up to six months.

Visitor's Visa Applications

If a home country is not on the visa waiver list, or if a traveller wishes to stay longer than three months, a Visitor's Visa is required. Application forms can be downloaded from the New Zealand Immigration Service website http://www.immigration.govt.nz/, or contact a New Zealand Embassy.
