The basis of study at Toroa College
Study at University requires active learning and critical thinking. At Toroa, our staff and our resources are committed to actively helping you identify your needs as you further develop these skills.
It's true - to be successful you have to identify your goals. Don't worry though, it’s easy to do at Toroa, as our staff are here to help you make a plan and prepare for the year ahead.
Your goals, your plans, your success – you can develop them all at Toroa, in a community that is focused on helping you achieve your best.
Your academic performance is very important to us and we offer an academic support programme built around residents’ needs in any given year.
We work closely with the University's Higher Education Development Centre for Student Learning to ensure that the academic support programmes we deliver offer you the best chance of achieving your academic goals.
We also support our residents to:
• Monitor their progress through an academic meetings and an academic health check
• Share their knowledge - when you understand something you can explain it to others
• Establish study groups - here you can seek clarification and learn faster than you might when working alone
• Access and engage with academic resources on campus
