Our Flats
International students wishing to live in a flat with New Zealanders can apply for a pre-booked University managed flat. This option is popular for students who are only here for 6 months.
The University managed, furnished flats are very close to campus and of a good standard. A mattress is supplied but linen, bedding and kitchen utensils are not provided. These can be purchased inexpensively in Dunedin.
New Zealand host students are selected for a number of the University Flats. In addition, some of these students also take on the role of a Community Support Person performing pastrol care and full support roles in their assigned area. These students will introduce you to the unique Dunedin student flatting culture.
There are a limited number of University Flats available for couples and small families. If you are unable to book an Otago flat you should arrange temporary accommodation to come to on arrival. The Accommodation Office provides lists of available flats, to help you find privately owned accommodation that suits your needs.

NB: University Flats are not centrally heated. The majority of housing in Dunedin is heated by electric heaters. You are advised to bring warm clothing.
