Our Flats
International students wishing to live in a flat with New Zealanders can apply for a pre-booked University managed flat. This option is popular for students who are only here for 6 months.
The University managed, furnished flats are very close to campus and of a good standard. A mattress is supplied but linen and bedding are not provided. Bedding and linen can either be purchased locally in Dunedin or a bedding pack can be rented from the University Flats (See more details in FAQs).
New Zealand host students are selected for a number of the University Flats. In addition, some of these students also take on the role of a Community Support Person performing pastrol care and full support roles in their assigned area. These students will introduce you to the unique Dunedin student flatting culture.
There are a limited number of University Flats available for couples and small families. If we are unable to offer you a University Flat you should contact the Accommodation Office who provide lists of available flats as well as assistance to help you find privately owned accommodation that suits your needs.

NB: University Flats are not centrally heated. The majority of housing in Dunedin is heated by electric heaters. You are advised to bring warm clothing.
