About the University Union

The Union is a commercial University-owned business unit comprising of 25 operations in 15 locations on and around campus. We are a diverse service provider specialising in the provision of food and beverage and employing more than 400 staff during the University Semester. The Union is part of the University's Student Services Division, with the General Manager reporting directly to the Director of Student Services.

The Union's business units are divided into three major areas of operation:

College Catering, Retail and Food & Beverage.

Our College Catering operation provides a food service to almost 1400 students daily at University College, City College, Hayward College, Aquinas College, Abbey College and Cumberland College. We operate the Retail outlets Campus Shop, Archway Shop, Commerce Shop and College Shop and the food outlets Frankly Sandwiches, Café Albany, the Union Grill, Food Court, Hunter Cafe and St David Café.

We manage the University of Otago Staff Club and the Refuel Bar and also have significant Conference and Event interests. We are also responsible for the management of the ISB Link and the St David Street Complex.
