What are the English Language requirements for admission to Foundation Year?
If your previous study has not been in English you are required to achieve a test score in a recognised English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL iBT or you may be internally assessed through our English Language Pathways at the Language Centre.
If you attempt IELTS you must:
- study the Academic module
- achieve consistent results across all bands
Important: Scores achieved in other tests will not be accepted.
Our non-IELTS pathways are ideal for students who would like to study at the University of Otago Foundation Year, but have not met the English language requirements for direct admission.
