This paper focuses on local design case studies, from both past and present. Connections are made between current thinking and how design fits into society. The design disciplines covered are communication design, industrial design, fashion design and architecture.
This paper accommodates and cultivates students who have no previous background in the study of design. Skills and knowledge developed in this paper will equip students to engage with further tertiary design study and will relate well to many other areas of education and employment.
