English for Academic Purposes: EAP and EFO
The Language Centre runs programmes to prepare you specifically for study at undergraduate or postgraduate level at an English speaking university. You will follow a carefully structured programme of Academic English, Research and Learning Skills, and IELTS preparation.
Our English for Otago (EFO) programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students meet the English language requirements for entry to the University of Otago and are run twice a year leading into the university semester intakes.
We also run a full 11-week English for Academic Purposes programme (EAP) during our Spring Term, which provides good preparation for the Summer Term EFO programme, and an abridged EAP programme at the start of the Autumn Term before EFO begins.
You may need General English classes until your English reaches the level required for the EAP programme.
