The University of Otago Language Centre provides you with excellent teaching staff and facilities.

Independent Learning Centre

Independent Learning CentreThe Independent Learning Centre has many resources to help you practise your listening, reading, grammar, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation and examination skills.

Each week you will spend some time in the Independent Learning Centre (ILC). The teaching staff will help you make an individual study plan and will also guide you through your learning tasks.

The ILC is open for students to use at lunchtime and at scheduled hours outside of class time.

Computer-Assisted Language Learning

Computer SuiteYou will use iMac and PC computers in the Independent Learning Centre and Computer Suite and work with a teacher to improve your language and computer skills.

You can also use the computers for your own work outside class time. Internet access and e-mail are available.

Libraries

Central LibraryYou will receive a student I.D. Card, (identification card) when you enrol at the University of Otago Language Centre.

The student I.D. card gives you access to use all university libraries.

Digital Language Laboratory

Digital Language LabThe Centre has a fully digital Sony language laboratory, which gives you the opportunity to practise your listening and speaking skills with the support of your teacher.

This is also open during scheduled hours outside of class time.
