My research speciality is peripheral and central nervous system injury and repair mechanisms and light tissue interactions. I am recognized as an expert in photo -biomodulation and light therpy. I have been invited to speak and chair sessions at numerous international laser conferences and serve on the Executive Councils and Scientific Advisory Boards of several laser societies. I am the past president of the North American Association of Laser Therapy, a founding member of the International Academy of Laser Medicine and Surgery, and currently the Vice President and President Elect of the American Society of Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. I serve on the Editorial Boards of Photomedicine and Laser Surgery, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Lasers in Medical Science, Physiotherapy Practice and Research and have published over 50 peer reviewed articles.
