Department of Paediatrics and Child Health
Welcome to the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. We are committed to excellence in teaching to both undergraduate medical students as well as postgraduate students.
Our People
Most of our academic staff members have Joint Clinical positions with the Capital and Coast District Health Board and have developed subspecialty interests. In addition to their University teaching and research commitments, they spend a significant amount of time in clinical practice.
Research
Our department is also active in a variety of research projects within the field of Child Health. Many of these projects involve international and multi-disciplinary collaborations. See under "Our People" above for details.
Postgraduate Programmes
The Department convenes the Diploma in Child Health (DCH) paper CHHX702 and staff are involved in teaching in both of the DCH papers.
Undergraduate Teaching
The Department teaches in the both the 5th and 6th year undergraduate (MB ChB) medicine degree.
