She is using the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) to do research in the areas of mental health and gastric cancer. She completed her PhD with BODE3 in 2017 investigating the future smoking prevalence, population health, and cost impacts of novel and substantive tobacco control policies ("tobacco endgame strategies") for Māori and non-Māori in New Zealand. She completed her BSc and MSc in Health Sciences at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. During the second year of her MSc programme, Frederieke worked with the Health Inequalities Research Programme using SoFIE data to investigate the relation between smoking behaviours and mental health.
