Parasitology Research

Ant parasitology research

Parasitology is the multi-disciplinary study of the interactions between animals and parasitic diseases.

From an ecological perspective, we are particularly interested in how parasites alter animal behaviour, how they impact the dynamics of animal populations or the functioning of natural communities, and how they can be used to control pests.

From an evolutionary angle, we also ask questions about the adaptations of parasites to better exploit their hosts, and use molecular tools to investigate the population genetics and diversification of parasitic organisms.
