Dunedin lawyer now Rotorua judge

Dunedin lawyer Melinda Broek has been appointed Rotorua District Court judge. Judge Broek, a University of Otago graduate who started her career in Invercargill followed by stints in England, has specialised in family law since becoming a barrister sole in 2013.

Faculty of Law Dean Professor Jessica Palmer has been named the Otago Southland Branch Emerging Director for 2020, while Otago BA (Japanese) and LLB alumna Stephanie Pettigrew, who is a partner at Dunedin law firm Marks & Worth and deputy chair at Presbyterian Support Otago, has been named runner-up.'s-skills
