SUMMARY:The death of a human soul
DESCRIPTION:
A storied life is the essence of the human soul and it arises in an ecological and relational context through self-formation. Soul is to body as sight is to the eye: ergo - no eye no sight and no body no soul (as our self-generated adaptive equipment for a natural life lived by “critters like us”. (Aristotle to cognitive neuroscience)
Physiology sustains human function in a bio-psycho-social milieu and we engage with it through sensation/exteroception, and movement and also through discourse (speech and reading), meaningful relationships, and an engaged life. For some people this life partly ends before death through diminution of the living soul by severe damage to the organ of self-formation – the interconnected human neural network central to neuroscience and psychology.
