SUMMARY:Thirst for Knowledge: The birds and the bees and fishing in the seas
DESCRIPTION:
Does the targeted fishing the large sizes change an individual's behaviour? Can populations with only a few individuals successfully reproduce?
This month Dr Gaya Gnanalingam from the Department of Marine Science at the University of Otago will discuss how fishing can affect reproduction in marine organisms, and some of the strategies we can employ to help minimise these effects.
