SUMMARY:Research and teaching in Germany, in the midst of the Corona and European Climate and Energy Crises
DESCRIPTION:Since departing from Otago in late 2019, I have been establishing a new research and teaching program at the University of Mainz, Germany. The work I have done has been strongly influenced by Corona, and the European Climate and Energy Crises. Consequently, I have developed research projects targeting Geothermal energy, and novel teaching programs that include blended online-in person excursions that teach about climate evolution! In this presentation I will give examples of my research and teaching work, and discuss how stronger links between New Zealand and Germany could be developed in this framework in future.
