DESCRIPTION:Presented by Orion MarshallThis presentation explores the career opportunities available to geologists within engineering consultancies. Drawing on my experience as a professional engineering geologist over the past four years, I will highlight the wide range of projects that define the role of an engineering geologist From site investigations and geological mapping to risk assessments and collaborative problem-solving with engineers, the role of an engineering geologist is both varied and impactful. Attendees will gain insights into the skills valued by consultancies, the work life balance that consulting can offer, and some of the types of projects that engineering geologists are involved in. The session aims to provide practical advice for aspiring geologists considering a career in consultancy, offering real-world examples that showcase how geology underpins infrastructure development and contributes to resilient communities.
