Dr Gurmeet Bhabra joined the University of Otago as a Lecturer in 1996. Prior to this he taught as a part-time lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh. He has also taught at the Australian National University, Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore in the past.
Gurmeet has published in all areas of finance in international refereed journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Pacific Basin Finance Journal, Journal of Multinational Financial Management and the Journal of Economics and Finance. His paper on Firm Size and the Pre-Holiday Effect in New Zealand won the best paper award at the 6th International Business Research Conference in Hong Kong in 2007.
He is a regular referee for a number of international journals and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Money, Investment and Banking. Gurmeet has supervised over 20 graduate theses.
