Dr Hoa Luong joined the Department of Accountancy and Finance in February 2020. She obtained her PhD from Curtin University, Australia in 2019 with Chancellor's Commendation Award. She completed a Master of Business from Monash University, Australia.
Dr Luong has taught undergraduate, postgraduate and professional accreditation courses. While completing her PhD, she gained teaching and research experience from Curtin University, the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University. Prior to her PhD, she was a lecturer in accounting and finance at the Academy of Finance, Vietnam.
Dr Luong has published refereed articles in leading international journals and conference proceedings. She has been a conference session chair, conference discussant and has presented her research at major international conferences. She has been awarded both internal and external research grants as the Principal Investigator. She is the reviewer of high-ranked international journals.
Dr Luong has held several leadership roles throughout her career. She is currently the Chair of the Accountancy and Finance Department Teaching and Learning Commitee. She has served as the Academic Co-Leader of the Otago Business School Internship program and the academic manager for the CPA Tuition Provider project at the Academy of Finance, Vietnam.
