Mentoring Progamme
Our Accounting Mentoring Programme is available to all students majoring in Accounting. The programme helps familiarise you with the wide range of Accounting career opportunities, and also helps you understand what it means to become a member of a professional body.
Dunedin Community Accounting
Dunedin Community Accounting is a voluntary service organisation in which Otago accounting students provide accounting advice to not-for-profit organisations. Being involved in this programme is a great way to meet members of the local community, put your accounting skills to good use, plus volunteering looks great on your CV and something to talk about during job interviews. For more information please contact Associate Professor Ros Whiting.
Writing and writing resources
We offer a range of study resources – including individual assistance – to help you get it right. Accounting and Finance are about more than just analysing numerical information. You will also be required to write reports, and to communicate information in a way that meets the needs of technical and non-technical audiences. Increasingly, employers are seeking graduates who have a skill-set that combines a high level of analytical and communication skills.
