Dr Miranda Mirosa, senior lecturer at the Department of Food Science, University of Otago appeared on the television programme Fair Go, TVNZ, on Wednesday 29 June 2016 identifying how New Zealand families waste food. Dr Mirosa explained that reducing food waste at its source by buying, cooking and serving less that New Zealand could save thousands in money and carbon emissions for our planet. Dr Mirosa also shared tips on how to re-organise your fridge, clarified definitions of best by and use by dates and even how banana skins can be used in baking.
