Emeritus Professor Frank Griffin presented a talk at Gore on "Alternative Foods: Frankenstein or Einstein?" to Southland farmers on challenges facing NZ agriculture. Farmers did not have to see alternative foods as a threat because they would never take over the high value cuisine markets,

The meeting was chaired by Ross Hyland with policy and goal setting talks by Hon. Pete Hodgson, Centre for Innovation; Rob Phillips, CEO Environment Southland; and Sarah Gardner, CEO Otago Regional Council.
