We warmly invite you and a guest to a reception in Christchurch, and are delighted to announce that Otago alumnus Mr Steve Anderson, Chief Executive Officer, Foodstuffs South Island will be the guest speaker at this event.
Steve holds the leadership role in the management of PAK’nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Raeward Fresh, Henry's Beer Wine and Spirits, Trents Wholesale and On the Spot Convenience stores.
As a cooperative, the business has a turnover in excess of $3.1 billion dollars, provides jobs to 17,000 mainlanders in or supporting 239 retail outlets. The co-op’s mission is to Feed the South Island – this sounds simplistic, but it’s a large and complex operation, especially in times of disaster. Steve will share some insights into what drives New Zealand’s largest and most successful grocery chain and how the key lessons from challenging times have strengthened the business.
This is a wonderful occasion to share University of Otago memories and stories, learn about developments at the University, and network with other local alumni.
Refreshments and beverages will be provided.
