This year’s event had the focus of celebrating the University’s 150th anniversary and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Division of Humanities, Professor Tony Ballantyne, spoke not only about the University’s distinguished past but its equally exciting future. Tony also spoke of his own connection with the region through his involvement with Tuia 250 to be held in Blenheim in the second half of 2019 and encouraged guests to visit some of the events associated with Tuia 250.

As the evening wore on, connections were made, memories of Otago were shared; some recent and others steeped in history, but all contained stories of important friendships, of a time of great excitement, and of a period of life that had the power to define future achievements.
