Celebrating the past and current achievements is the basis of the “Daring to be Wise” exhibition currently showing at the Otago Museums and guests were able to virtually experience a snapshot of it via a video walk-through of the exhibition.

The Chancellor, Dr Royden Somerville QC, and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Harlene Hayne, spoke about the University’s illustrious past, and outstanding contributions to local, national and international communities, as well as providing information about current developments and plans for the future.

Those future developments importantly include plans for a new building for the Christchurch campus as part of the Health Precinct. Dean and Head of Campus of the University of Otago, Christchurch, Professor David Murdoch, talked about the development of the campus over the decades, and the part the new building will play in the continued success of the campus. Hayley Fisher from Warren and Mahoney Architects, spoke of the ethos of the building being about and for people, and provided both internal and external concept drawings.
