Only Otago? . . . (From left) Dr Supatcharajit Jitpraphai, Ai-lada Chotechuang, Victoria McEniery (International Office), Dr Chompak Pirayavaraporn and Thanathat Kaewsermwong spell 'Otago'.
Staff from the University of Otago's International Office enjoyed catching up with Thailand-based alumni in Bangkok on 25 August.
Several Otago alumni met with International Office Regional Marketing Manager (South-East Asia) Victoria McEniery at an Education New Zealand (ENZ) event, and made new connections with fellow Otago graduates.
"Otago Alumni won the best photo at the ENZ event! We had so much fun that by the end of the night it was decided we will hold our own informal events in the future," Victoria says.
Dr Chompak (Chom) Pirayavaraporn told Alumni and Friends she enjoyed meeting Victoria and other Otago alumni last Friday.
"It was fantastic to talk about Dunedin, which brings back so many memories. I’ll always miss the University and the city because I enjoyed study and travel so much during my time at Otago that I came to see New Zealand as a second home."
Chom also enjoys membership of the New Zealand Alumni Association in Thailand, which affords a "great opportunity for networking with people in a variety of fields."
She and partner Thanathat (Tan) Kaewsermwong featured in the "Your Story" section of our eConnect newsletter late last year after returning to Otago's Dunedin campus to have their "pre-wedding" photos taken.
