Toronto-based alumni celebrated the University’s 150th anniversary in style at the University Club of Toronto. The spectacular setting of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for alumni to gather and reflect on their achievements as Otago graduates and the successes of their university.
Stories were shared and old connections were rekindled, while new friendships were forged, and very quickly the conversation and laughter increased. Exchange students studying in Canada also attended and experienced first hand how the Otago experience stays with you long after you graduate.
The Chancellor, Dr Royden Somerville QC and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Harlene Hayne spoke about the University; its past, present and future, and noted the contribution alumni make to continue the Otago spirit across the world. They also thanked the local alumni who had generously supported this event.
Toronto – until next time.
