Research
My research focuses on the process of how medical students become doctors through interacting with the formal, informal and hidden curriculum. I am also interested in research that supports medical students to learn effectively during their education.
Specifically, this includes the socialisation of medical students, professional identity formation, the clinical experience of medical students, medical humanities, career choice, experiential learning and the hidden curriculum. I use several research methods and analyses including Foucauldian discourse analysis, thematic analysis, grounded theory analysis, narrative research, survey research and mixed method approaches.
