    Eligibility

    There are no formal prerequisites, but the paper assumes that students have basic knowledge of the biology of the brain. It is advantageous (but not required) for students to have taken at least two of the following papers or their equivalents: ANAT 332, ANAT 335, PHSL 341, PHSL 342, ZOOL 314.

    Paper Structure
    • Module 1:  Brain stimulation to treat Parkinson’s disease
    • Module 2:  Neuromodulation of the motor cortex to increase recovery from stroke
    • Module 3:  Peripheral nerve stimulation to modulate body systems

    The paper is taught in small group sessions, usually in March to June. Some modules may run concurrently.
