New Zealand has a high prevalence of multiple sclerosis (MS) compared to other countries, and the prevalence is increasing over time.
International research has shown that on average individuals with multiple sclerosis are admitted to residential care at a younger age and when less cognitively impaired compared to the general population.
The reasons for admission into residential care are complex.
As the InterRAi offers a comprehensive assessment, we can determine the individual and collective contributions of many areas of the lives of older people with MS to their risk of residential care admission.
