Research

Golnoush received her MSc in Biotechnology (2008), at the Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. She was lecturer and lab manager at the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, before joining the Molecular Microbiology programme of the Sir John Walsh Research Institute at the University of Otago in October 2015 to undertake PhD studies into the structure and function of a Candida pleiotropic drug resistance transporter, Cdr1. As part of her project, Golnoush spent six months working at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Germany, with support from a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service, DAAD, awarded in 2018. After receiving her PhD, she moved to the Department of Biochemistry to join Professor Sally McCormicks lab as the PostDoc Fellow.

Currently she is utilising biochemical and imaging approaches to investigate lipoprotein metabolism, a key risk factor in the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
