These Otago Biochemistry researchers make discoveries into how diseases work at the molecular and genetic level, and translate them into either treatments for those diseases or ways to diagnose or prevent those diseases.
The Department has particular expertise in inherited cancers and neurodegenerative disorders. We also focus on producing better bioinformatic tools for research and biotechnology.
