Asia-Pacific Biocultural Health: Past and present

Our Research Theme investigates fundamental questions of our human past that have pressing implications for human society today in Aotearoa, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia, through the lens of evolutionary medicine.

We explore the relationships of infectious, and non-communicable diseases with:

  • Social inequality
  • Environmental change
  • Cultural change

Our work can have implications for health service policy and delivery.
