For this year, the 4th Australia-New Zealand Roundtable on Genomics is organised as a satellite meeting ahead of the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) in Queenstown on Sunday 4th August, from 12 noon to 4pm.
The Centre for Society, Governance and Science (SoGoS), led by the Faculty of Law, University of Otago, and in partnership with the Ethics and Social Issues Committee of the HGSA, invite researchers, health professionals, lawyers, bioethicists, members of the community, and the general public to attend this event.
There will be two Roundtable discussion sessions this year:
- Roundtable I will provide an overview of prenatal testing and involve issues raised by new technologies, including discussion of hypothetical scenarios.
- Roundtable II will involve general issues about managing incidental findings as well as current issues in research involving Maori.
Attendance is free but pre-registration before 20th July 2013 will be required: please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact 64 3 479 5324 or 64 21 623 622.
