Konan-SenykanDr Konan Seny Kan, Senior lecturer (Accounting)

Dr Konan Seny Kan joined the School after being the Head of the Accounting Department at Toulouse Business School, France. Prior to this, he was Assistant Professor at Groupe Sup de Co La Rochelle, France.

Konan's research is at the crossroads of three themes (1) Accounting, Governance, CSR, (2) Organisations (MNCs, Emerging economies), and (3) Configural Thinking. He has published in journals such as African Management Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Society and Business Review, and Harvard Business Review (professional).

Konan is based in room OBS 3.40, ext 8145.

Yongxian-TanDr Yongxian Tan, Lecturer (Accounting)

Dr Yongxian Tan joined the Department of Accountancy and Finance earlier this year. His current research interests lie in the areas of capital market research, innovation and corporate governance. Previously, he taught at the Shanghai of Finance and Economics in Shanghai, China.

Yongxian obtained his PhD degree in Finance from the Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and licensed CPA in Illinois, USA. His research interests include capital market research, Corporate innovation, and corporate governance.

Yongxian is based in room OBS 3.47, Ext 9072.

Farewell

Over the past few months, the Department has bid farewell to a number of staff. We thank them for their service and wish them all the very best for the future.

Linda Harold has taken up a position at the University of Waikato.

Lynn McAlevey and Dyna Seng have retired. Lynn gave 36 years of service to the University, and Dyna 24 years. Their impact within the Business School, and those they taught cannot be underestimated. We wish them well in retirement.
