CAANZ Fellowship Honour

David lont thumbCongratulations to Professor David Lont, Head of the Department, who has been made a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ). Fellowships are peer recognition awards and are granted to very few CAANZ members to recognise outstanding achievement in and/or contribution to the profession of accountancy. David was nominated on both these grounds. Only five other people from throughout Otago were awarded the title of Fellow.

Professor Lont joins his colleague Professor Ralph Adler who was also made a Fellow of CAANZ in 2016.

OUSA Teaching Awards 2017

Nicola Beatson thumbnailCongratulations to Nicola Beatson, who was awarded Premier Lecturer for the Division of Commerce in the 2017 OUSA Teaching Awards. Awards organiser OUSA's Student Support Manager Sage Burke says the awards are an opportunity both to acknowledge, on behalf of the students of Otago, the contribution that lecturers make to their academic endeavours and future careers, and to encourage best practice in teaching.

For more information on the awards and other winners, check out the story in the Otago Connection.
