Tracie joined the Department of Management in 2015 to co-design and share the delivery of the unique new offering, MANT 252 Developing Responsible Leadership. In 2016, she expanded this exciting paper which provides students from across the university, the opportunity to roll up their sleeves, become active citizens and make a difference in the community. Students work alongside some wonderful community and not-for-profit organisations to help create and deliver valuable outcomes for the organisations, their constituents, and the students' own leadership development.

In 2017, the Dunedin Based Doctor of Business Administration ( DBA ) was launched. Tracie teaches BDBA907 Socially Responsible Business, one of the core papers on the programme, sometimes described as an applied business ethics paper. Tracie loves the opportunity to work alongside postgraduate students who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the classroom and support them to consciously assess their personal values and strengths and explore how they can expand their responsible business practices to make an improved positive contribution to the business world and society at large. Part of Tracie's role in the DBA is to manaaki and provide guidance and support for these phenomenal post-graduate students as the DBA Wellbeing and Student Support Adviser. Students can book casual or recurring face-to-face or Zoom chat sessions with Tracie whenever it would be useful.

Tracie embraces the term “pracademic”, with her teaching blending industry and research-informed academic knowledge with real world contexts, practical skills and applications. Her undergraduate background is in Psychology, with post-graduate studies in Clinical Psychology. She is a professional level Wellbeing Coach and is passionate about supporting student wellbeing and personal development. Additionally, she has several years' experience working with students with specific learning difficulties, including Dyslexia, and is passionate about all students being able to reach their full potential. Between 2018-2021, Tracie worked on the Ola Malohi research project to explore Pacific Islands students' experiences of Mental Health and Wellbeing whist in Higher Education. Tracie has an open-door policy and is always happy to meet with students.

Tracie was recognised as the Otago Business School's Best Professional Practice Fellow at the OBS annual awards in December 2022.
